The servicemembers of Ukraine’s 95th Brigade of the Airborne Forces have breached another section of the Russian border, as reported by the Ukrainian Airborne Forces Command on Monday. This marks the second border crossing since the beginning of their military operations in the Kursk region of Russia.

The Airborne Forces Communications Division released a statement without specifying the exact location of the breach but emphasized the strategic success. A video accompanying the statement purportedly shows Ukrainian tanks destroying a Russian support point during the operation.

Despite Ukraine’s announcement, the Russian Ministry of Defense has yet to comment on the latest border breach.

Ukrainian forces initiated their ground operation in the Kursk region, adjacent to Ukraine’s Sumy region, on August 6, 2024. By late August, Ukraine’s top military commander, General Syrsky, confirmed the control of over 100 settlements. However, earlier in September, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that dozens of those settlements had been retaken.

On September 18, Ukrainian officials announced a temporary halt to their counteroffensive in the region.
