Ukrainian General Staff: Russia has lost 1,091,000 troops since start of war

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday said since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia had lost approximately 1,091,000 troops (killed or wounded), with 990 losses recorded in the past 24 hours alone.

Estimated cumulative Russian losses from February 25, 2022, to September 10, 2025, include:

  • Tanks – 11,172 (+3)

  • Armored vehicles – 23,262 (+1)

  • Artillery systems – 32,606 (+29)

  • Multiple launch rocket systems – 1,483 (+1)

  • Air defense systems – 1,217

  • Aircraft – 422

  • Helicopters – 340

  • Tactical-level UAVs – 57,851 (+347)

  • Cruise missiles – 3,691

  • Warships/boats – 28

  • Submarines – 1

  • Vehicles and fuel tanks – 61,290 (+83)

  • Special equipment – 3,964 (+1)
