The United National Movement (UNM) opposition party MP Roman Gotsiridze has  responded the accusations by Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili that the party backed protests in Tbilisi and regions against the increased prices of fuel, stating that the PM is liar and that the statements made by him ‘are never serious and are ridiculous.’

“The rallies were organized by the opposition and the United National Movement, do you know what it looks like? – Before the French Revolution, Voltaire and Rousseau were accused of everything by the representatives of the then  monarchy,” Gotsiridze said.

Twenty individuals were arrested yesterday for blocking the road and disobedience to police at the rally against fuel prices in the capital Tbilisi.
