Internal Affairs Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri responds to the murder of an Australian tourist and says that an investigation is underway and at this stage he can not talk about the details of the case.

“What happened is very unfortunate. First of all, I want to express my condolences to the family and her relatives. We are doing our best, my staff, investigators are working 24 hours a day to investigate quickly. We have something, but we can not say anything yet.

I have said many times that this investigation may be ruined and what we have learned during those two nights might be wasted with one of my words and I do not want to interfere with the investigation. We are working” – Gomelauri said.

The body of an Australian citizen was found on Mtatsminda on July 31.
