The Georgian youth movement Dafioni on Tuesday announced a rally at the parliament building the next day titled “tire the regime”, following the adoption of the controversial foreign influence transparency law by the state legislature earlier this month.

“We are engaged in a decisive battle for democracy and freedom. With our numerical advantage, if we tire the opponent with frequent and small actions, his system will start to collapse from the inside. We need a place where the Georgian Dream will definitely bring out its resources”, the movement said after announcing the protests at 8 p.m.

The law was adopted amid widespread protests inside the country and international criticism, with the US warning of sanctions on those politicians and their family members who “undermine democracy” in Georgia.
