Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday said Ukrainian forces intercepted all cruise missiles launched during the latest Russian attack over the past 24 hours, crediting Western-supplied fighter jets and air defence systems for the response.

According to Zelenskyy, F-16 fighter jets participated in the interception operations alongside other air defence systems, adding about 90 per cent of aerial targets are being destroyed.

“For example, today our F-16s and other systems destroyed all cruise missiles,” he said.

Zelenskyy added while Ukraine’s air defence systems are performing effectively overall, the country continues to face a shortage of systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.

He said the issue was discussed during his meeting with the Dutch Prime Minister, Rob Jetten.
