Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday arrived in Greece for an official visit, with his aircraft landing at Athens International Airport earlier today.

Zelenskyy was welcomed by Greece’s Deputy Prime Minister, with whom he held a brief conversation upon arrival.

The main topics of the visit include the establishment of a vertical liquefied natural gas transportation corridor and preparations for a new energy agreement between Kyiv and Athens. The anticipated deal is expected to strengthen Ukraine’s energy security.

During his stay in Athens, Zelenskyy will hold meetings with Greece’s President and Prime Minister. Press conferences and an extended meeting between the delegations are scheduled following the talks.

This marks Zelenskyy’s second visit to Athens, following his August 2023 trip.

Athens is the first stop of Zelenskyy’s new European tour, from where he will continue on to Paris and Madrid.
