Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was spreading “fairy tales” during his visit to China, while Russia continued building up forces on the battlefield and launching fresh attacks on Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said he had received new reports from the military, including updates from the commander of Ukraine’s air force about drone interceptions.

“Russian arrogance is growing - they attack Ukraine increasingly often during the day with dozens of drones. Last night alone, there were 150 drones, in the morning more than 50, and by evening dozens more, most of them Shaheds”, he said.

The President stressed that swarms of enemy drones appear in Ukraine’s skies while Moscow makes statements from China, dismissing international efforts to end the war.

“In China these days, Putin continues to invent stories, pretending he is not guilty of this war - as if someone constantly ‘forces’ him to fight, to kill, to send thousands of people to storm our positions”, Zelenskyy said.

“Now we are witnessing another concentration of Russian forces in certain areas of the front. Russia continues its strikes, and of course, we will respond - including asymmetrically - so that Russia inevitably feels the consequences of its arrogance”, he added.
