Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday emphasised that the ongoing fighting remains challenging, particularly due to harsh weather conditions and Russia’s attempts to act as if the war’s end were inevitable, after receiving a briefing from Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on the current situation at the frontlines.
“Attacks continue, our positions remain defended,” Zelenskyy said, expressing gratitude to all Ukrainian units and soldiers achieving results for the country.
“Russia’s losses must not decrease; our defence on the frontline is our strength in diplomacy. Ukraine must remain strong,” he added.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian combat losses have reached an estimated 1,220,950 personnel.
On January 12, Ukrainian defenders successfully raised the Ukrainian flag over the Kupiansk City Council building, fully reclaiming the area from Russian occupiers.
