Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that any large-scale Russian strike could have “devastating” consequences, stressing that Ukraine needs a constant, daily supply of missiles for its air defence systems.

Zelenskyy added Russian forces have launched more than 1,700 attack drones, over 1,380 guided aerial bombs and 69 missiles of various types against Ukraine in just one week.

“Every massive Russian strike can be devastating. That is why missiles for air defence systems are needed every single day, and we continue working with the United States and Europe to ensure stronger air protection,” the President said.

Zelenskyy also noted that coordination with regional partners is under way in Vilnius, including close cooperation with Lithuania and Poland. He said Ukraine is working with each partner to strengthen the country’s defence capabilities, adding that countries bordering Russia understand better than most the scale of the threat it poses.

The latest warning comes after another large-scale combined Russian attack overnight on Saturday, during which more than 375 attack drones and 21 missiles of various types were launched at Ukraine. Most of the aerial targets were intercepted by Ukrainian air defence forces, though several strikes were recorded.

Kyiv suffered the most damage, with five districts of the capital affected. One person was killed and at least four others were injured, according to Ukrainian authorities.
