President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has called the visit of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the Minister of Defense Lloyd Austin to Kyiv “very valuable and important.”
Zelensky has written in the Telegram that defense assistance, tightening sanctions on Russia, financial support for Ukraine and security guarantees have been discussed.
He has refrained from uncovering details, however, thanked the US for its “unprecedented assistance.”
Blinken and Austin were in Kyiv on April 24.
AP has reported that the Secretary of State and Minister of Defense informed Zelensky that Ukraine would receive another $322 million in military aid from the United States.
It was also reported that US President Joe Biden will officially appoint a new ambassador in the near future, and this week, American diplomats who had left Ukraine because of the war, would gradually return to Kyiv.
