French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has called on the Georgian government to recommit to the European course, describing it as the clear will of the Georgian people. His remarks come as EU foreign ministers gather in Brussels for a high-level European Council meeting.

“We hope that the Georgian government will return to the European path, which is the choice of the Georgian people,” Barrot said ahead of the meeting. “We have prepared various decisions by which we call on the Georgian government to return to the path chosen by the Georgian people.”
