During a working trip to Donbas, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Mariupol School №26, which was recently reconstructed under the «Big Construction» program.

This was reported by the Official Internet Portal of the President of Ukraine.

The secondary school, which enrolls more than 900 children, was built in 1963 and has long failed to meet the standards of the modern educational space.

During the repairs under the presidential program, heating systems, engineering and electrical networks were completely replaced, and the facade was insulated. Also, as part of Olena Zelenska's initiative «Without Barriers», the school installed a special lift for stairs, ramps and equipped bathrooms.

In addition, the equipment of the canteen and school classrooms was updated, the general repairs were carried out and the territory was tidied up. Now the school has a new football field with artificial turf, treadmills, playgrounds for basketball, volleyball and exercise.

«Cool school. Children want to study in it. It feels like a modern space for knowledge. There are all the conditions to engage in various activities. The city should have more and more such schools,» said President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko, 11 schools, 8 kindergartens, 6 medical institutions, 3 cultural and 3 sports facilities, as well as more than 60 km of roads and 3 bridges are being reconstructed in the region under the presidential program «Big Construction».
