Polish Prime Minister criticized the EU for its unwillingness to tighten sanctions against Russia

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki criticized the European Union for its inconsistent position on sanctions against Russia. Statements about tightening are followed by backtracking.

The prime minister wrote this on Twitter.

"Every day hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians wake up in fear of bombing Russian planes. And meanwhile, Europe is playing the lottery: first announcing tougher sanctions, then a day later saying let's not overreact," he wrote.

As Morawiecki said, "Putin has set Ukraine on fire, and Europe wonders if it has enough fire extinguishers."

Earlier, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Poland in April-May 2022 will completely abandon Russian coal, and by the end of the year will stop importing oil.

The prime minister stressed that Russia uses energy blackmail. "Today this tool of blackmail has turned into a tool of war. We call on everyone in Europe to follow in our footsteps," he added.

Morawiecki said that when Poland implemented its plan to give up gas and oil, Germany became increasingly dependent on Russia.
