First American HIMARS are already in Ukraine - Reznikov

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that the first HIMARS systems have already arrived in Ukraine.

He said this on his Twitter.

"HIMARS are already in Ukraine. Thank you to my American colleague and friend, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for these powerful means," Reznikov wrote, promising the Russian invaders a "hot summer."

Recall, the HIMARS multiple rocket launchers were announced as part of a $700 million aid package from the United States in early June. The initial plan was to provide four systems.

The MLRSs were reportedly provided with a political commitment not to use these weapons against targets on Russian territory. At the same time, the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine said that the Ukrainian military would determine the range of use on its own.

On Wednesday, June 22, it was reported that exercises with them for the Ukrainian military were over.

Politico, citing sources, reported that the Pentagon is ready to provide four more systems to Ukraine as part of the next aid packages.
