Russian Foreign Ministry accused the U.S. of restricting transit to Kaliningrad

The Russian Foreign Ministry accused the United States of restricting the transit of goods through the Kaliningrad region. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, UP reports.

Zakharova said that restrictions on the transit of goods through the Kaliningrad region and the disruption of a special flight to remove Russian diplomats from the United States did not coincide by chance.

"Zakharova said: "It is hard to call the ban on the transit of a wide range of cargo by rail through the Kaliningrad region, imposed by the collective West at the express suggestion and dictation of the White House administration, and the almost simultaneous disruption of the special flight to take our diplomats home from the United States, who were ultimatumatically instructed by the US authorities to leave Washington, a coincidence.

"There is every reason to believe that these are manifestations of complex tactics, or rather rude and arrogant attempts to talk to us 'from a position of strength,'" she added.

Recall that on June 18, Lithuania began to apply transit restrictions on goods subject to the EU sanctions between the main part of Russia and the Kaliningrad region.
