Poles will be able to get a special status in Ukraine. Zelensky submitted a bill to the Rada

On Monday, July 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill to grant special status to Poles in Ukraine.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said this during a speech on the 79th anniversary of the Volyn tragedy.

"Today President Zelensky has introduced in the Verkhovna Rada a bill on granting Poles a special status in Ukraine. Today Ukraine with this gesture of the president symbolically invites us: 'We welcome you here with special rights. Let it be some kind of sign for us," he said.

As reported, on May 22, Polish President Andrzej Duda addressed the Verkhovna Rada. The head of state Volodymyr Zelenski was also present in the parliament.

Poland also wants to conclude a new treaty on good neighborliness with Ukraine. Ideally, it would be prepared by the beginning of 2023.
