The President and Vice-President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen and Margaritis Schinas, joined the action in Brussels in honor of the Independence Day of Ukraine on August 24.

She published a video in which she took part in the unfurling of the national flag of Ukraine.
Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas called the action "a significant moment of the celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine."
"We stand side by side with this proud nation that is fighting for its freedom and dignity, as well as for our values and the European model of society," he added.
