Ukraine may receive EUR 5 billion in macrofinance from the EU in October

Ukraine may receive 5 billion euros of macro-financial assistance from the EU in mid-October, and the possibility of the next tranche by the end of 2022 is also being discussed. This was announced by the leaders of Ukraine and the European Commission to journalists after negotiations in Kyiv.

 

 "I want to thank you for the decision to allocate a 5 billion euro tranche of macro-financial assistance to the European Union. We are very grateful, and today we discussed the possibility of receiving the next tranche of the loan by the end of this year," Volodymyr Zelenskiy said.

 

 "I am glad that the European Parliament approved a tranche of 5 billion euros today, and we are working on the rest. 5 billion can be transferred to Ukraine in mid-October, and we have agreed on further steps," said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
