Russia considers the introduction of a price ceiling by Western countries for its oil as a "dangerous and illegitimate tool". In Moscow, they are confident that they will be able to continue selling raw materials. This is stated in the statement of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Washington Telegram.
The statement says that the price cap is a violation of "the basic principles of the functioning of free markets", which will lead to increased uncertainty and higher costs for consumers of raw materials.
"Regardless of the current flirtations with a dangerous and illegitimate instrument, we are confident that our oil will continue to be in demand," the embassy believes.
It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin and high-ranking Kremlin officials have repeatedly stated that they will not supply oil to countries that introduce a price ceiling.
