Poland intends to transfer about 14 Leopard tanks to Ukraine - Duda

Recently, Poland announced its intention to transfer Leopard to Ukraine. And we are talking about about 14 such tanks.

This was stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

"Five days ago, we announced the transfer of Leopard. We are talking about about 14 tanks," Duda said.

The Polish president also expressed hope that Ukrainian partners will also provide Ukraine with Leopard.

"President Volodymyr Zelenskyі has asked me for support many times. He said that they need tanks. We have handed over 260 of our old tanks. We have had them since the time of the Soviet Union. We decided to hand over this equipment, which is in dire need. It was practically the beginning of huge support for Ukraine and I hope that the decision to send Leopard to Ukraine will be a new beginning of assistance," Duda said.

It will be recalled that on January 11, Polish President Andrzej Duda, during his visit to Lviv, said that Warsaw had decided to hand over a Leopard 2 "tank company" to Kyiv, but within the framework of the international coalition.

In addition, according to the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, his country expects a quick agreement on the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine from Germany.
