The Ministry of Defense of Moldova confirmed that a Russian missile crossed the country's airspace, the missile also flew over Romania

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova officially confirmed the information about the crossing of the air space of Moldova by a Russian missile. This is reported by the website of the Ministry of Defense of the country.

"At 10:18 a.m., the responsible structures of the institution detected a missile that crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova over the city of Mokra in the Transnistria region, and later over the city of Kosautsi in the Sorok district, heading towards Ukraine," the message reads.

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova also emphasized that, in cooperation with the responsible structures of the country, it closely monitors the situation in the region and strongly condemns the violation of the country's airspace.

Before that, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi reported that two Russian missiles had crossed the airspace of Romania and Moldova.

The Spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said on the air of one of the TV channels that the Air Force could have shot down the Russian Kalibr missiles that entered the airspace of Romania and Moldova, but did not do so immediately because of the threat to the population.

"Having flown into the territory of Moldova, these Kalibr missiles (two such missiles were observed by radar) crossed the airspace of Moldova and Romania, and from there re-entered the airspace of Ukraine, in the Chernivtsi region. The Air Force realized they had been seen by radar. There was a possibility of launching a strike on approaches to the borders of Ukraine. But it is clear that this was not done, because there was a threat that the missiles could enter the territory of these countries. Therefore, they flew further, and funds were used for them inside the country," the spokesman said.
