OP confirmed that Zelenskyi invited Orban to Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been invited to Ukraine, and Kyiv hopes that he will pay a visit.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva said this in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

He noted that he was present at the meeting of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi with the Hungarian Prime Minister as part of the summit of EU leaders in Brussels on February 9.

"It was indeed a meeting of the President of Ukraine with the Prime Minister of Hungary in the circle of several other leaders. Indeed, the Prime Minister of Hungary was the first to approach the President of Ukraine and shake his hand," said the deputy head of the OP.

According to him, at this meeting, Zelenskyi, in particular, discussed with Orban the path of European integration of Ukraine, "and we heard constructive things about this."

"The President of Ukraine has repeatedly invited Prime Minister Viktor Orban to come to Ukraine, to Kyiv. Sit down at the table and talk about all aspects, including those that concern Hungary. We are ready to offer our approaches on how to solve it," Zhovkva said.

"That is why the Prime Minister of Hungary has been invited to Ukraine, and we hope that he can be here. The position of Hungary is known, which says that it will not provide military aid to Ukraine. The best thing in diplomacy is always a dialogue, a conversation. The President of Ukraine had several telephone conversations with the Prime Minister of Hungary both before the war and during the war. There is dialogue. But, of course, during a full-fledged visit, there are much more opportunities and chances to conduct it objectively and productively," he added.

After the meeting between Zelenskyi and Orban in Brussels, the Hungarian mass media reported that the President of Ukraine had invited the Prime Minister of Hungary to Kyiv. It is not known whether Orban accepted Zelensky's invitation.

As previously reported, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban promised to continue humanitarian and financial support to Ukraine.
