Syrsky went to Bakhmut again - the battles for the city reached the highest level of tension

The commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, visited the positions of the Ukrainian military in Bakhmut yesterday, March 5.

This was reported by the Military Media Center.

"The commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, yesterday, March 5, once again visited the units defending Bakhmut and on the approaches to the city," the message reads.

According to him, the battles for Bakhmut have reached the highest level of tension.

"The enemy threw additional Wagner forces into battle. Our soldiers are courageously defending their positions in the north of Bakhmut, trying to prevent the encirclement of the city," Syrsky said.

He noted that our resistance at this bridgehead has been going on for several months.

"All this time, the enemy's attempts to capture the city were defeated by the resilience of our soldiers. Our defenders inflicted significant losses on the enemy, destroyed a large amount of equipment, forced Wagner's best assault units into battle and reduced the enemy's offensive potential," the commander added.

We will remind you that on March 6, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, held another meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The military advocated continuing the defense of Bakhmut.

We also reported earlier that the Ukrainian military continues to defend Bakhmut from the invaders. The supply of our forces in the city has not been disrupted.

It should be noted that previously the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, visited Bakhmut on March 3. There he talked with the military about issues of increasing defense capabilities on the front line.
