Sowing has started in Ukraine

All regions of Ukraine have started sowing. As reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, 500,000 hectares of grain and leguminous crops have already been sown.

 

 "All of Ukraine is sowing. All oblasts have started sowing spring crops on the territory controlled by Ukraine," the message says.

 

 According to the department, all categories of farms have sown 500,000 hectares of grain and leguminous crops, of which:

 

 spring wheat - 107.7 thousand ha;

 

 spring barley - 307.4 thousand ha;

 

 peas - 57.7 thousand ha;

 

 oats - 26.4 thousand ha.

 

 Farmers of Ternopil Region - 94.7 thousand hectares, Vinnytsia - 74.3 hectares, and Khmelnytskyi - 60.8 hectares planted the most grain and leguminous crops.

 

 A total of 207,000 hectares of grain and leguminous crops were sown last week, with 27,100 hectares of agricultural producers in the Ternopil Oblast leading the way.

 

 Farmers of the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy regions have started planting sugar beets. The Vinnytsia region is in first place - 15.3 thousand hectares.

 

 Farmers of Odesa, Khmelnytskyi and Bukovyna started sowing sunflower seeds.

 

 The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine gave the first forecasts for the harvest of 2023: the total gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops may amount to 44.3 million tons, which is 16.57% less than the previous figure of 53.1 million tons.
