Hungary refused to host the 2024 European Figure Skating Championships. This is stated in a message on the website of the Hungarian National Association of Skaters.
The organization explained that the decision was made due to the protracted war in the country neighboring Hungary, its impact on the economy "and energy prices, which significantly affect the Kovzanyarsk variety."
The association clarified that it does not have enough resources to organize high-quality competitions. The Hungarian side has already informed the International Skating Union about the refusal to host the championship.
The competition was to be held in Budapest from January 22 to 28, 2024. There is no word on where he may be transferred.
