The writer who sued Trump for $5 million for harassment, files a new lawsuit for $10 million

Columnist and author Jean Carroll, who previously won a $5 million sexual assault and defamation case against former President Donald Trump, is seeking at least $10 million more in a new lawsuit.

 This is reported by AP.

It is noted that Carroll is seeking compensation for Trump's disparaging remarks after the court verdict.

The writer filed a new lawsuit over Trump's claims that she "was too ugly for him to sexually assault her." He claimed he had never met Carroll.

The former US president also claimed that Carroll had previously made false allegations of sexual violence against other men "to promote her book".

In the new lawsuit, the attorneys said that Trump, "despite the jury's verdict, has once again continued his malicious defamation of Carroll."

The document arrived at one of the courts in Manhattan. Trump's lawyers have not yet commented on the new lawsuit.

It will be recalled that on May 9, the Manhattan Federal Court found former US President Donald Trump guilty of a civil lawsuit filed by columnist and writer Jean Carroll and ordered him to pay compensation for harassment and defamation.

Carroll accused Trump of rape back in 2019, when Donald Trump was president, but the trial began in April 2023. The Republican refused to testify in court, but publicly repeated that he could not have raped Carroll because she was "not his type."
