Moldova will arrest Putin if he comes to the country - Sandu

Moldova will comply with the decision of the International Criminal Court and arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he comes to the country.

President Maia Sandu said this in an interview with Euronews Romania.

Sandu was answering a question about whether Putin will be arrested on a warrant from the International Criminal Court if he comes to Moldova.

"Yes. The Republic of Moldova has signed the agreement on the criminal court, and Moldova will respect the court's decision," Sandu answered briefly.

The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin over the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children. In response, the Russian Federation accused the prosecutor and the judge of the International Criminal Court in absentia and announced a wanted list.
