The Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Republic assumed the possibility of a NATO war against Russia

The Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Republic, Karel Rzehka, said that there is a possibility of war between Russia and NATO.

 This is reported by news.

Preparation and deterrence are important to prevent such a scenario, he said.

"War between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance, which is the worst scenario for us, is not impossible, it is possible," said the chief of the Czech General Staff.

Rzehka noted that the country's armed forces are trying to prepare for a potential intense conflict, as "Russia is now on a trajectory of conflict with the (North Atlantic) Alliance."

"The Czech Republic is a member of NATO, and this brings advantages, but also imposes certain obligations. Therefore, if a war breaks out, a large number of Czech soldiers will join the hostilities in accordance with the plans of the Alliance," he added.

Rzhehka emphasized that, given the experience of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine, it is necessary to strengthen national security and, in particular, to overcome dependence on the supply of Russian energy carriers as soon as possible.

It will be recalled that last week Rzhehka stated that the future counteroffensive of Ukraine against the Russian Federation will not necessarily change the situation on the battlefield and called to prepare for a protracted war.
