Armenian Prime Minister confirms participation in the summit in Spain and hopes for a peace deal

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has confirmed that he will attend the European Political Community summit on Thursday, October 5, in Granada, Spain, despite Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's refusal to go. Pashinyan said this during a speech in the Armenian parliament on Wednesday.

The Armenian Prime Minister noted that before the announcement of Aliyev's refusal to go to Spain, Yerevan had considered a peace agreement between the two countries "very likely". However, he emphasized that he was not canceling the planned trip.

"We will go and hold meetings there (in Granada - Ed.) and try to present our positions in more detail. Of course, we are sorry that the meeting (with Aliyev - Ed.) will not take place, but we hope that the conceptual document on the table will be signed at the right time. I am ready to sign this document," he emphasized.

Pashinyan also said that the peace treaty in question would not contradict the interests of Azerbaijan and "fully corresponds" to the interests of Armenia.
