Trust in China has been undermined by its position on the war against Ukraine. Beijing needs to prove that it is not an ally of Russia. This was stated by EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell in Bloomberg.


European leaders believe that China could use its considerable influence on Russia to put pressure on Moscow to stop its aggression in Ukraine. Borrell expressed this opinion in his speech to students of Beijing universities.


"We think it is extremely important that China makes a serious effort to convince the people of Ukraine that China is not an ally of Russia in this war," he said. - "I think China should increase its humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
