The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that last night, October 26, Russian air defense intercepted a Ukrainian drone over the Kursk region near Kurchatov, which is located near the Kursk nuclear power plant.

"Regular air defense systems intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle over the territory of the Kursk region near the village of Kurchatov," the statement said.

The Russian Defense Ministry does not provide any information about the consequences.

Meanwhile, Russian Telegram channels write that it is about three drones. One drone was allegedly detected near the checkpoint of the administrative building of the Kursk NPP at 20:20.

"The device was equipped with an unknown explosive device that did not detonate, it was removed by specialists for further destruction," the message says.

Russian publics also claim that the second drone was neutralized by air defense at 21:30, it landed on the territory of the station, and the third drone allegedly fell near the nuclear waste storage facility at 23:40 and exploded. It is stated that the facade of the building was damaged, and there were no injuries.

The press service of the Kursk NPP said that the nuclear power plant was the target of the evening drone attack. It is reported that there were three of them. The nuclear power plant is operating normally. There were no casualties or damage.
