A series of explosions were heard in Sevastopol on Monday afternoon. Eyewitnesses filmed columns of black, thick smoke. The Russian Defense Ministry announced an attack with Storm Shadow missiles. 


According to the "Crimean Wind" Telegram channel, there is a lot of smoke in Sevastopol in the area of Streletskaya Bay.

"Probably, there is also a hit from the airfield in Novofedorivka," the message says.

"Sevastopol residents report a smoke screen in the South Bay and that there are hits," the channel also wrote.

At the same time, the "governor" Mikhail Razvozhayev said that air defense had worked in the city. According to him, the smoke in the area of Sevastopol Bay is the military's use of camouflage means.

In addition, Razvozhayev added that two air targets were shot down over Sevastopol. Debris fell on the territory of a school on the North side, on Pasichnaya Street and in Inkerman.

Later, the Russian Defense Ministry commented. The ministry said that the peninsula was attacked this afternoon by 8 Storm Shadow missiles and that all targets were shot down by Russian air defense.
