China assured that it will be decisive in its response to attempts to separate Taiwan

The People's Liberation Army of China "will not be merciful" to any steps toward Taiwan's independence, said General Zhang Yuxia, deputy chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China. This was reported by the China Daily.

"The Taiwan issue is at the core of China's core interests, and the principle of one China is the consensus of the international community... No matter who wants to separate Taiwan from China in any way, the Chinese military will never agree to it," the publication said.

Zhang Yuxia made this statement at the Beijing Xiangshan Forum on October 30.

He also condemned the interference of "a certain country" in the affairs of the Asia-Pacific region and said that this interference leads to instability and geopolitical discord.

Zhang Yuxia also emphasized China's readiness to work together with Russia to maintain global strategic balance and stability.

In response to these statements, the Taiwan Affairs Council called them "political lies" and considers the Chinese Communist Party to be a troublemaker in the region and the Taiwan Strait.
