The strike on the civilian ship in Odesa region could have been a Russian pilot's mistake. The occupiers probably tried to destroy a military radar near the port. This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter.

British intelligence recalls that Russian troops allegedly fired an X-31 air-launched missile (called AS-17 KRYPTON in NATO) from the Liberian-flagged Kmax Ruler.
The attack took place near the port of Pivdennyi in Odesa region. The ship was supposed to deliver iron ore to Russia's strategic partner, China.
Intelligence suggests that the occupiers fired a missile, believing they were aiming at military radar. The Russians probably mistook it for a radar on a civilian vessel.
"If so, this indicates an unsuccessful tactic of using weapons on the part of the Russian pilot," the publication said.
Earlier, we reported that the Russian military hit the superstructure of a civilian ship flying the Liberian flag in the evening when the ship was entering a port in Odesa region. This was stated by the OC "South".
