Truck traffic through the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Slovak border has been unblocked. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.

"On December 4, at 22:00, the actions of the protesters who blocked the movement of trucks through the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint ended," the agency writes.

Currently, registration of vehicles is carried out according to the established procedure, while the number of trucks on the Slovak border has increased due to traffic complications on the border with Poland, the SBGS reports.

As of December 5, 625 trucks were queued in Slovakia to cross into Ukraine, border guards said.

"Vysne Nemecke is the only automobile checkpoint for cargo on this section of the border.

Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Serhiy Derkach said that the ministry continues to work with Slovak colleagues to prevent further protests. The official noted that following the EU Transport Ministerial Council, the European Commission has no plans to amend the current agreement on freight liberalization, and on the contrary "expresses its readiness to defend the transport visa-free regime."
