Finland promises to increase the production of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen told Iltalehte.

Negotiations on this issue have already been completed and a decision should be announced in the coming weeks.

"The plan is ready. A plan to significantly increase ammunition production has been announced. The goal is to support Ukraine even more than we do now. At the same time, we are further increasing the readiness of Finland and the Nordic region to produce ammunition," Hakkanen said.

According to the official, this issue is likely to be resolved by Christmas. 

It is noted that their ammunition production will be increased by tens of millions of euros.

"Finland can take on a role that exceeds its population in the production of ammunition for Ukraine," Hakkanen said.
