Poland urged to prepare for a direct NATO war with Russia in three years

The head of Poland's National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, said that NATO should be ready for a direct war with Russia in three years. He said this in an interview with Nasz Dziennik.

In this way, he commented on the assessment of German experts that after the freezing of the war in Ukraine, Russia will have six years to prepare for a direct conflict with NATO. He considers this assessment "too optimistic".

"If we want to avoid war, NATO countries on the eastern flank should adopt a shorter three-year time horizon to prepare for confrontation. The time has come for the eastern flank to build a capability that would send a clear signal of deterrence to aggression," Siewiera said.

He called for a further increase in the size of the Polish army.
