Zelensky will meet with President Biden and address senators

Today, December 11, Volodymyr Zelensky will pay a visit to the USA. The President will meet with US President Joseph Biden and hold a series of meetings and negotiations. This was reported by the Office of the President.

"Among the key topics at the talks in Washington will be the continuation of defense cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, including joint projects for the production of weapons and air defense systems, as well as coordination of efforts between the two countries next year," the Presidential Office's telegram channel writes.

The Biden administration confirmed Zelensky's visit to Washington. The US president is scheduled to meet with the Ukrainian president on Tuesday, December 12.

The interlocutors will "discuss Ukraine's needs and the importance of continued US support at a critical moment," the US administration said.

Similarly, on Tuesday, December 12, during his visit to the United States, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will also address senators in addition to meeting with American leader Joe Biden. This was announced by Republican Speaker Raj Shah, The Washington Post reports.

The President of Ukraine was invited by Senate faction leaders Charles Schumer (Democrats) and Mitch McConnell (Republicans).

Zelensky is also scheduled to meet with Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson. But a speech in the House itself is not yet on the schedule.

"A key obstacle to increasing funding for Ukraine is the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, where Zelensky has not yet been invited to speak with House Republicans," WP writes.
