Tunnel subsidence in Kyiv subway between Pochayna and Taras Shevchenko stations: details

Another section of the Kyiv subway is experiencing tunnel subsidence - between Pochayna and Taras Shevchenko stations on the blue line. This was reported by First Deputy Mayor of Kyiv Mykola Povoroznyk in an interview with Ekonomichna Pravda.

"The tunnel is sinking, there will be scheduled work. This is just a matter of timely inspection, repair, keeping it in working order. There are no big problems," he said.

The subway management plans to organize "shuttle traffic" through one tunnel while the other is being repaired, so as not to completely block the subway traffic in this area.

"We will stop traffic in one tunnel, not two at the same time. This is a matter of organizing work in terms of passenger transportation. There will be temporary passages, a different traffic organization scheme. Trains will not turn around anywhere, they will take turns passing this section through one tunnel," said Mykola Povoroznyk.

In addition, it is reported that the new traffic organization scheme will provide for longer intervals between trains. "Kyivpastrans" organizes additional ground transportation routes. The work is expected to begin in the summer of 2024.
