Italy promises to support Ukraine in G7, making it a priority in 2024 - Italian Foreign Minister

Ukraine will be a priority of the G7 in 2024. Italy will lead the G7 next year. This was reported by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, quoted by ANSA.

"The West continues to show great solidarity with Ukraine. The G7, which will be headed by Italy from January 1, will focus on the Ukrainian issue, in addition to the Middle East and artificial intelligence," the Foreign Minister promised.

According to him, it remains a priority for the G7 to help Ukraine protect its territorial integrity. Tajani assured that Italy will continue to fulfill its role by providing comprehensive assistance to Ukrainians.

Tajani added that it is necessary to achieve goals that "can guarantee a stable basis" for negotiations.

"The occupation of Ukraine is not good, so we need to achieve a situation that forces the Russians to withdraw and then sit down at the table (of negotiations - ed.)," he added.
