Ukrzaliznytsia forms a unit to protect railway infrastructure

Ukrzaliznytsia JSC is forming a unit that will use drones to monitor and protect railway infrastructure. It will include veteran railroaders who were injured at the front. This is reported on the website of Ukrzaliznytsia.

The initiative will help ensure the protection of railway facilities and enable veterans to apply their military experience and skills in civilian work.

The carrier has already signed a memorandum with the Kruk UAV Operator Training Center. The training will be conducted using an online platform for veterans, which the Center is creating together with the Renaissance Foundation.

The Center's instructors will be retraining veteran railroad workers. They will teach employees how to pilot copters, as well as engineering training, including the assembly and maintenance of drones.

The UAVs will be used to combat the theft of Ukrzaliznytsia's property at stations and tracks, record offenses, detect fuel theft from locomotives, inspect infrastructure during martial law, and participate in the investigation of transport accidents.

The first step will be to create a test unit. It will be used to create a network that will help ensure the efficiency of the railroad in the future.
