Houthis claim they attacked a US warship: Pentagon denies

Yemeni Houthis said that on Monday, January 29, they allegedly attacked a US Navy destroyer. However, the Pentagon denied this information. This was reported by the AP.

The destroyer was in the Arabian Sea as part of American measures to stop Houthi attacks on merchant shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

A representative of the US Department of Defense anonymously said that there had been no reports of an attack on the destroyer.

He also noted that the Houthis had previously fired missiles that did not reach their target and fell on land or into the sea.
