The Netherlands proposed to return Ukrainian refugees to the west of Ukraine

Deputies of the Dutch BBB party have proposed sending Ukrainian refugees back to the west of Ukraine, as this part of the country "looks relatively stable," Dutchnews reports.

According to the publication, the initiative was made by Mona Keijzer, a deputy from the BBB party, during a debate on Monday on the government budget for solving refugee problems.

"We cannot accept everyone. The west of the country (Ukraine) seems to me to be relatively stable. Can't Ukrainians be accommodated there in safety?" the MP said.

At the same time, the GroenLinks/PvdA parliamentarians criticized the proposal of their colleague from the BBB party. They reminded that missile attacks are also taking place in the west of Ukraine.

According to Dutchnews, Keijzer also noted that she would like to know what the government's position would be if Kyiv asked for the return of Ukrainian citizens who could be mobilized for military service. According to her, it may turn out that hundreds of thousands of conscripts have fled abroad, and some of them may be in the Netherlands.
