A Ukrainian bus carrying 50 people was involved in an accident on Wednesday on the A4 highway near the village of Mirocin near the city of Przeworsk in Podkarpackie Voivodeship, near the border with Ukraine.
No one was injured in the accident, and the cause of the accident was the bus driver's mistake, Przeworsk police and the Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin Oleh Kuts told Ukrinform.
According to Justyna Urban, a spokeswoman for the Przeworsk police, the accident occurred on Wednesday at 08:20 (Kyiv time). The MAN bus was traveling with 50 people, including the drivers.
"The driver failed to maintain a safe distance to the truck in front of him, which resulted in a collision with the rear of the vehicle," Urban said.
According to her, both drivers were sober. The police issued a fine to the bus driver for causing the accident in the amount of more than 1,000 zlotys (about 10,000 UAH).
Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin Oleh Kuts told the agency that Polish rescuers examined all the travelers on the spot, no one needed medical care or hospitalization.
"Everyone continued their journey to Ukraine on another bus provided by the carrier," Kuts said.
