Zelensky may dismiss not only the Chief of the Army, but also Chief of the General Staff Shaptala - media

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky may not only dismiss the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, but also the Chief of the General Staff Serhiy Shaptala, UP reports, citing sources in the Presidential Administration and military circles. Relevant consultations are already underway.

"Shaptala will leave the General Staff. All the others are uncertain," one of the sources said.

According to another insider, personnel changes may take place in the middle of the week.

Rumors about the dismissal of both military leaders may have been fueled by a morning post on social media by Chief Zaluzhnyi. In it, he congratulated the Chief of the General Staff on his birthday, noting that Shaptala had been with him side by side since the beginning of the full-scale war.

"It will still be very difficult for us, but we will definitely never be ashamed. I am happy that in this life and during the war you were by my side, a person for whom Ukraine is really above all. Happy birthday, my friend! We believe in the best. We already deserve it," Zaluzhnyi said.

As we reported earlier, Zelensky confirmed for the first time his intention to dismiss the chief of the Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.
