AFU clarified its statement about the concentration of Russians in the Zaporizhzhia direction: There is no threat

The spokesperson for the Tavria operational-strategic group, Dmytro Likhovyi, clarified his statement about the concentration of Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhia direction and the preparation of a Russian offensive. During the telethon, he emphasized that the situation in this area remains stable, and there is currently no threat to the regional center, "despite the dissemination of relevant information in a number of media and social networks."

He noted that during a morning show on one of the TV channels on February 15, he did not have time to finish his speech, which is why some media misinterpreted his words, and in some places the information was even fake.

In particular, the media wrote that the Russians were assembling a "shock fist" for a "large-scale offensive" in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

"The situation remains stable in the Zaporizhzhia direction. A significant group of Russians is really concentrated there, and in principle it is comparable to Avdiivka, but it should be taken into account that Avdiivka is a narrow strip, urban development, it is literally a few kilometers and 50,000 or more Russians who are actually crawling down there like a bottle neck," Likhovyi said.

In his opinion, the situation is different in the Zaporizhzhia direction - it starts from the border with Donetsk region and extends to Dnipropetrovsk, which means different natural conditions, and the Russian contingent there is "smeared" along the entire front line.

"If we divide this concentration into kilometers or tens of kilometers, it does not pose the threat that some might have imagined. There is no "double advantage", no threat to Zaporizhzhia, as some might have already interpreted. The situation there is stable," the Armed Forces representative assured.
