Southern defense forces have denied Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu's statement about the clearing of the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro River from Ukrainian troops.

Earlier today, Shoigu reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russian troops had taken control of the village of Krynky in Kherson region, located on the left bank of the Dnipro River.


In an interview with Russian media, Shoigu also said that the "capture" of Krynky "puts an end to the Ukrainian counteroffensive."

The southern defense forces responded and stated that "the Russian occupation forces, having no success in assault operations on the left bank of the Kherson region, resorted to manipulation and falsification of facts."

The military officially reported that Shoigu's information was not true, and that the Ukrainian Navy's marine units, along with other components of the Southern Defense Forces, continue to hold their positions.

"Having made a single assault attempt during the day, due to significant losses, the occupiers retreated to pre-prepared propaganda positions, from which they falsely report the destruction of the bridgehead, unable to fulfill the task set by the command," the statement said.
