Zelensky: If we hold elections now, people will choose me

President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Ukrainians would re-elect him if elections were held. He expressed this opinion in an interview with Fox News.

"Now I have the most support in society. So if we hold elections now, people will choose me. There is no need to say that I am trying to stay in power," he said.

He reminded that the postponement of any election during the war - presidential, parliamentary or municipal - is legal during the war.

"I did not cancel the elections. The law says that elections cannot be held during martial law. This is not some law passed under me. It was there from the very beginning," the head of state emphasized.
