The United States Congress needs to quickly approve new funding for $60 billion in aid to Ukraine. This is necessary to support Ukrainian defenders. This was stated by Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin in an interview with Sky News.


Austin emphasized that after two years since the Russian invasion, the international community is inspired by Ukraine's resilience in the face of Russian aggression.


He emphasized that Ukraine has recovered more than half of its sovereign territory that Russia seized in 2022.


Although Russian losses are significant and their military program has stalled, Austin noted that Ukraine still has a long way to go.


The Pentagon chief urged members of Congress to act quickly and pass a national security bill to provide Ukrainian troops with the necessary resources to defend the country. He emphasized the importance of sending a strong signal of US support for Ukraine.


Austin promised that the White House will continue to inform the American community about the events in Ukraine, as this war is a threat not only to Europe, but to the whole world.


He warned that the world could become even more dangerous if Russia and its autocratic allies decide that they can get away with their actions.
